My parents retirement home located in Hihi, Northland. My father is a certified builder so this was a collaborative project which focuses on durable materials and a pragmatic construction approach. With a south facing view, a primary concern was allowing natural light while ensuring privacy from neighbours to the north. This three-bedroom residence features a garage, storage, and a rumpus room on the lower level, with living areas and two bedrooms on the upper level. The home nestles into the slope and was designed to suit the long, narrow site. Construction to be completed in 2025.
